Decided to continue my cafe hunt today at Soohongry. It is located at Lorong Soo Hong. As you can see, the cafe's name came from the street name.
The homey cafe is not very big which only have 3 to 4 tables. They have limited seating. So it is not a suitable place for big groups to hang out.
Their choices on food are limited. They serve Pasta Carbonara, Aglio Olio with Shrimp, Pork Vindaloo and Chicken Fernando. On the other hand, their drinks have more choices compared to the food. You have a choice of coffee or tea.
When the muffins were brought out, the smell of the freshly baked muffins wafted in the air and made my tummy growled with hunger as I haven't had my breakfast yet. I decided to try one of the muffins. The muffin looked golden brown on the outside. When I took the first bite, I can taste a bit of crispiness at the bumpy top of the muffin. It is moist and fluffy on the inside and with the melted chocolate chips, it taste heavenly.
Chocolate Chips Muffin ( RM 4.50 )
Lemonade ( RM 5.00 )
Peach Tea ( RM 5.00 )
Aglio Olio with Shrimp ( RM 16.00 )
Spaghetti tossed with garlic, olive oil, chili flakes, fresh shrimp and parsley.
Pasta Carbonara ( RM 16.00 )
A pasta dish with eggs, cheese, olive oil, bacon, salt and pepper.
The aglio olio has fresh shrimp in it and it is quite spicy. It tasted not bad though if they used more olive oil, the taste would be a bit more different. The dish is not as oily compared to other aglio olio I have tried in the past few months. As for the pasta carbonara, I would have prefer to have it creamier. The bacon bits taste amazing when it is ate with the pasta as it made it a bit saltier. Overall the food is good and I would like to go back again in the future for its serene and relaxing environment.
